1. Think about a presentation you have given or one that you would like to give.

2. Explain how you could use each of the steps described in the article to make your presentation better.

Imagine you have been asked to give a presentation about your organization to a group of university graduates.

Choose 3 key discussion points you could talk about, related to your organization. e.g. it's target market, campaign strategy, history, mission statement, organization structure etc.

Prepare a presentation opening, remembering the following structure:

  • Greet the audience
  • Introduce yourself
  • Grab the attention of the audience
  • Present your main theme
  • Give a brief outline of your presentation structure.

Make a 5 minute presentation to your instructor.

Extension Activity

"The best way to grab an audience's attention is by telling a joke".
